چکیده

The Viruses Editorial Office wishes to notify its readers of a correction in [1]. The third paragraph of Section 2.5 should be replaced with the following: “To detect autophagic flux, BSR cells were transfected with pEGFP-LC3, infected with BTV or left untreated as described above for the indicated time. Then the cells were stained with 50 nM LysoTracker Red DND-99 (acidic compartments marker) (C1046, Beyotime) for 30 min. After the cells were washed three times with PBS, they were processed for analysis using a confocal microscope”. The manuscript will be updated and the original will remain available on the article webpage. The authors would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Autophagy Activated by Bluetongue Virus Infection Plays a Positive Role in Its Replication

Bluetongue virus (BTV) is an important pathogen of wild and domestic ruminants. Despite extensive study in recent decades, the interplay between BTV and host cells is not clearly understood. Autophagy as a cellular adaptive response plays a part in many viral infections. In our study, we found that BTV1 infection triggers the complete autophagic process in host cells, as demonstrated by the app...

Dissection and integration of the autophagy signaling network initiated by bluetongue virus infection: crucial candidates ERK1/2, Akt and AMPK

Bluetongue virus (BTV), a complex double-stranded segmented RNA virus, has been found to initiate cellular autophagy for its own benefit. Here, with a view to understanding the underlying mechanisms, we first systematically dissected the exact signaling network in BTV-induced autophagy. We found that the activity of mTOR, a crucial pivot, was inhibited by BTV1 infection, subsequently leading to...

Ammonium Chloride as a Potential Candidate for the Treatment and Controlling of Covid-19

Coronaviruses, pathogens with a zoonotic potential, are positive sense single-stranded RNA viruses. SARS Coronavirus-2, the cause of Covid-19 infection, is from the betacoronavirinea subfamily, which has close genomic and proteomic similarity to SARS Coronavirus-1(1). Given the genomic proximity of these two viruses, studies on SARS Coronavirus-1 can be used to control or detect SARS Coronaviru...
